Our Work
International Outreach Ministries’ eBridge project has a unique vision to equip indigenous believers in proclaiming the Gospel, making disciples, and training fruitful leaders. We are not looking for mere additions, but organic multiplication. We execute this vision by providing online communities to seekers, disciples, and leaders that have uniquely sourced content provided by Muslim background followers of Jesus Christ (MBBs). We are not trying to bring Muslims to Western Christianity, rather to Christ Himself. We want to foster an organic, spontaneous expression of the Church by focusing on foundational teaching rather than forms that are culturally Western and unimportant to the overall development of local fellowships and Christ followers.
We view the process as three fold - proclamation, discipleship, training of reproductive leaders. We define and measure success through each phase of the process as follows:
-
Proclamation - Build a thriving online community where discussions transcend age old debates between Christianity and Islam in order to identify Arab Muslims with a genuine openness to Jesus Christ and His teachings (”sayings” for an Arab).
-
Discipleship - Our MBB team members act as a door for seekers and help them to migrate into virtual groups for mentoring and learning. We leverage interactive technologies to link true seekers with experienced “off line” mentors. Success is specifically measured by the number of groups that are started, the level of retention in each group throughout the mentoring life cycle, groups members growing in their expressed faith in Christ, and group members graduating to start and manage their own mentoring/discipleship groups (reproductive members).
-
Church Planting through Leadership Training - We want to see online relationships turn into offline community. Disciples that show gifts of leadership, teaching, or pastoral care will be identified. We will provide them with ongoing mentoring that is specific to the gifts described. Success is measured by the number of offline communities that emerge, their ability to seed new groups independent of our infrastructure and services, and the ability of these fellowships to seed new fellowships. We do not want to plant a potted plant, but a reproductive vine that bears fruit exponentially. We believe that this must be invested in the “DNA” of these emerging leaders. We must protect them from institutionalization and encourage community/family based structure.
